It's not as bad as it looks from the outside! The reception area is spacious and, actually, quite well presented. We had booked to park here for the duration of our holiday and to stay the night on our return. The person on the front desk checked us in without any problems and we waited a few minutes for a taxi transfer to the airport. When we got back, we were checked in to our room quickly and efficiently and got a good night's sleep. The room was ok. I wouldn't want to stay there for a week, it was a bit basic, but it did exactly what we needed it to do. No complaints at all.
Very decent room. Just somewhere to put your head down for a few hours. No nonsense no frills. We did make use of room service as we were tired and hungry. Also has a bar.

We stopped here the night before our flight from Manchester. Room was clean and comfortable, although we had air con fans right outside the window; not so easy to sleep through, which is annoying when you're getting up early. A couple of different restaurants available, food was good. The hotel offers a relatively cheap shuttle to the airport. However, be careful; although the timetable states that it goes to all terminals, in practice the driver only stops at terminal 2, which might mean a long walk. On return, it took several calls to the 'courtesy' line to get a taxi to come, and when it did, it was 25 minutes late. My advice, just get a normal taxi.
Our room was clean, neat and tidy. Don't know about buffet evening meal, didn't eat in hotel. Breakfast was good, and plenty of it. Overall just needs revamping, and updating, and soft closures on the room doors.

Great gym and pool but the hotel needs air conditioning. They couldn't even provide me with a fan for half my stay as they had run out. The hotel would be great if they sort out the temperature!
Would go again. Beautiful surroundings. Facilities excellent. However room a bit pokey. Good quality hotel.

Ive been to many birthdays and celebrations at the Woodstock. Loads of outdoor space with tables and heated lamps. A large and spacious pub with bar area & seating upstairs and downstairs. Often popular & busy but loads of standing room and seating. Lovely staff. Drinks slightly pricey.
Staff here were very welcoming and friendly. The order was taken in good time, the food arrived promptly and it was a very good standard. The setting was bright, open and clean. What else can you ask for? I'll definitely be back. Children enjoyed it too and staff couldn't do enough. If you're flying from Manchester Airport and want to eat before you fly. I'd recommend calling in here as we did.

A newly refurbished, centrally located pub just a 10 minute walk from Heaton Chapel train station. Excellent outdoor space, dog friendly and a great selection of beers, ciders wines and spirits. The menu is good, with light bites, decent starters, mains and sides. My friends had the fish and chips which were cooked well and the chips home style. I had mussels and chips which were equally good served with chips and crusty bread. Diverse crowd, clean facilities, friendly staff, would go again.
Nice pub with a fab outdoor area. They’ve got a some good craft beer options plus the big brand names and I spied a good gin selection too which I’ll have to give a go. There are sometimes lots of young kids inside which can be loud but generally pretty chilled outside. Just people relaxing with friends and dogs.

Basic room, comfortable and quiet. For some odd reason there was no curtain covering the clear-glass window in the bathroom? (the window literally beside the toilet, with clear view to the garden) I had to cover it with a bed sheet, which the staff kindly provided. The neighborhood is scary quiet and dark at night. Very friendly staff. Pity that I didn't try their breakfast which smelled delicious as I had to leave early
Small and basic room but clean and it had everything you need. Breakfast was in a big room with a high ceiling, good choice of food, all very clean and well presented. The grounds were gorgeous...it was like being in the country. Would definitely stay here again x
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
